We've been talking to people for a while about setting up a fire circle in the garden, picking peoples brains for ideas really. At the start of the summer we decided to play with a layout using bits and pieces we already had around the house. It's been quite a success, we've had a few fires in the brick pit on the floor, but we can also put the fire bowl with BBQ grill there too, as we did this evening. It's a work in progress, we'd like to build some benches from sleepers rather than old fence posts, and as you can see we need a few more paving slabs, but it's definitely going to stay.
The guinea pigs are settling in really nicely, they are now (mostly) calm and happy to sit on a lap and much on some grass. They also squeak loudly if I forget to give them a dandelion or two when I go out to hang washing out. I may have started something there!
