It has finally happened, we've moved.
Moving day itself went quite smoothly. There were a couple of small issues, like we thought the removal company were dismantling the beds and they thought we were. It's a shame we packed the electric screwdriver. Other than that everything went onto the lorry very quickly and we took a last photo outside the old house.
There was an amusing moment when the estate againt rang to tell us that they had the keys but the house was not locked. Apparently the previous owners decided one of them should take the keys while the other made sure they hadn't left anything behind. Not thinking that they then couldn't lock up!
The removal crew gained a member after lunch and unloading was extremely fast. They were done by 4.30 and we were back building beds.
We have been presently surprised that the house doesn't smell smoky, once we took down the blinds in the sitting room it's only really the conservatory which smells. The carpets can stay which is certainly good for the budget.
Unpacking is going pretty well, we have managed to find most things we have needed so far. The exception being Alex's jumpers. They were in his wardrobe, waiting to go into a wardrobe box. However they are not. Since his wardrobe was dismantled and is sitting in pieces in the Garage we have no idea where they are. We will be washing the couple we have found quite a lot over the next few days.
