The weather forecast for the weekend had lots of showers but we still managed to spend lots of time outside. It's interesting watching the new garden as we have no idea what might pop up where and whether some of the things which look dead will actually come back to life.
There have been non plant discoveries too, Esme claims to have seen a fish in the pond and we definitely have frog spawn. I thought with steep sides it wouldn't be a wildlife friendly pond. However the mesh over the top has sunk enough that the frogs have found the puddle on the top and laid their eggs in it. We will be tracking their progress, maybe with photos if it stops raining.
Saturday afternoon we spent in the front garden, the children though this a great opportunity to practice their bike riding skills. Alex learnt to peddle his bike with the stabilisers on. Esme on the other hand wanted hers taking off. After about 10 minutes of pushing herself along with her feet she managed a quick burst of peddling. By the end of the afternoon she looked as if she had been riding for ages. She can officially rider a two wheeler, she proved it by cycling to and from the Easter egg hunt.
