It's all happening here.
Tomorrow the plumber is coming back to finish the bathroom. He's got to fit the shower door, finish the tiling round the door and above the worktop and swap the bathroom radiator with the one in the corridor (long story but the bathroom one is 10cm to tall to fit under the worktop)
Hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have a fully functioning bathroom. Then we can decide on paint colours.
The alcove outside our room is ready for a coat of paint and some bookshelves. This means we can unpack most of the boxes in our room. I think there are 3 left which are not books.
It's not been so warm the last couple of days so I've been focusing on the inside. We have a couple of shelves in the utility room where we have been dumping all the DIY stuff (from tools to light switches). I've spent the last couple of days sorting it out and unpacking the last of the boxes in there, only ne box of unosrted stuff went to the garage. They are now clear and ready to be taken down. We plan to put in some more shelves over the weekend.
And finally the garden, Daniel went on a freecycle mission last night and came back with 12 bags of lovely topsoil. That should fill some of the space left by gravel removal. The vegetable bed is looking good, all shrubs and gravel have been removed. The seedlings are in the conservatory and growing well. Alex is very proud of his runner beans, Esme is still waiting for her sweet peas to sprout.
The frogspawn is thriving, we can see tiny wriggly tadpoles inside the bubbles.

I'm afraid you may have misunderstood the statement about the books. Three of the six book boxes don't have books in. We also have a stack that is not book boxes...
ReplyDeleteThat said, we haven't used what's in them six months which means there's no pressing cause to keep them in our bedroom.
