Amaryllis or Triffid?

I was given an amaryllis for Christmas at the time there were plenty of other things going on so rather than plant it I left it on the window still till things calmed down a little.

This afternoon I though I had a bit of spare time so I went to get the box, ready to plant the bulb. It seems the amaryllis is a bit ahead of me and rather than wait for me to plant it it's made it's own way into the world.

The painting is coming along well. Over the weekend I did the woodwork in the kitchen, since Dan kindly pointed out it didn't need me to move anything after all. There a couple of bedroom doors sanded and ready to go, which should finish off the tin of paint.
