Easter Pengiuns

Or the March of the p egg uins. Who said chicks have to be yellow and fluffy!

As the rest of us move into spring and start thinking of Daffodils and jumping lambs Esme's class have been studying the Antarctic. The homework this week, to make a model penguin. It's also the school egg decorating competition this week. Enter the Easter penguins (and scrambled eggs for tea).

Of course Alex wanted to make some too and it's cold near icebergs. You need a hat!

First blow your eggs, I did this without assistants. Much easier that way. Then let the children loose with black paint.

Of course penguins need an ice berg to stand on. Fortunately we had lots of cardboard in the recycling box, just add a layer of paper machie and more paint. Instant iceberg (well OK it had to dry overnight)

I planted out the French beans, I'm hoping they pull through. I';s been a bit cold the last couple of days and they are looking a bit sorry for themselves. However they were getting to big to be inside, I had to untangle them from the boiler before I could taken them outside.
