Daniel has been hard at work in the utility room, it's now pale green, as it one side of the kitchen. It's looking so much better than the hideous wallpaper that was here when we moved in.
Today however the weather has been stunning so we decided to make the most of it and head out for a picnic at the zoo. As far as our children are concerned the zoo is a place with a great playground, a water play playground and places that sell ice cream. Oh and there might be a few animals in the background!
Today the animals were seeming quite cooperative, the lion was laying in the sun with 2 cubs, we got a quick glimpse of the gorillas playing on their tyre swing and the penguins were swimming. There is a tunnel underneath the penguin pool but it's been surprisingly rare to see them swimming overhead so that was a treat. Esme's obviously learnt a lot about penguins since we first went to the zoo when she insisted they must be ducks, since ducks were the only swimming bird she'd met before.
The new meerkat enclosure has also been finished since the last time we were three and since it was feeding time we had the perfect opportunity to watch them close up.
