Bye Bye Oliver

Clearly the obvious way to relax after hosting a children's party is to start decorating. Well maybe not that relaxing.

A couple of weeks ago we ordered a new carpet for Alex's room, which should arrive tomorrow morning. Of course it would  be silly to fit a new carpet and them paint the room so we have a deadline.

Daniel painted the celiing on Sunday, the children hung around to watch the paint dry. Really. It's pink to white paint which starts out a pale pink colour and turns white as it drys so possibly a little more interesting than it sounds.

The previous owners had a half compleated mural of a car which Alex has grown attached to. So we took a goodbye photo

before painting over it.
Unfotunatly it's proving a little tricky to actually get rid of and even afater a base coat of white and a couple of coats of "Fresh Blue Tac*" blue we can still see hints of car. It's due another coat tonight so fingers crossed that will do the job.

*Daniel refers to the colour of our sitting room as "Mature Blue Tac", thus this colour, being that bit brighter must be fresh blue tac. I don't think Dulux will be employing him to name their paint range in a hurry but it does give you a better idea of the colour than the official name, First Dawn.
