Full Steam Ahead

It's all happening here.

The fence has been the major project of the week. Having taken most of it down over the weekend this week has been devoted to putting up the new one. No easy task since it seems every tree we have is planted pretty much where we need a fence post!

We've ended up removing one living one, two dead ones (one of which Dan managed to uproot with his bare hands). The eucalyptus was the biggest problem It's roots were simply too high for the fence to go over them easily, even after an hour of so with a chain saw.

We were given the option to just not have a gravel board on the bottom of that section but decided in the end since the tree is showing no signs of regrowing we'd regret leaving the stump. It would be much easier to get a machine in now while there is no fence in the way.

With very supprising speed this morning a man with a chainsaw and stump grinder has reduced it to a large pile of chippings. I do mean fast, when I left to take the kids to school there was a 1.5m high stump. I arrived back to this sight.
No tree, just a pile of logs and a large hole

The fence is also coming along quickly now all the posts are in place. We should soom have a private garden once again.

It's become rather more of a blank canvas than I'd expected though so getting it to a point where you actually want to sit out in it is still quite a way off.
